A Look Inside Our Knitwear Factory: From Yarn to Finished Product

Knitwear Factory

In a world increasingly focused on transparency, knowing where and how a garment is made is as important as the design itself. For brand owners, a peek behind the curtain of the manufacturing process can build immense trust and confidence in a partnership. It is a chance to see craftsmanship in action and to understand the journey of a product from raw material to a finished, beautiful garment.

We invite you on a virtual tour of our knitwear factory in Tiruppur, India—a global hub for knitwear production. We believe in showing our partners exactly how we turn a cone of yarn into a high-quality piece of apparel.

1. The Journey Begins: Yarn Sourcing and Preparation

Every great garment starts with a great yarn. Our process begins long before the first stitch is made.

  • Sourcing: We work with a network of trusted suppliers to source the highest quality yarns, including everything from luxurious merino wool and cashmere to sustainable organic cotton and recycled blends. Each yarn is carefully selected to match the specific requirements of a brand’s design.

  • Quality Check: Upon arrival, every lot of yarn is inspected for color consistency and quality. This meticulous check ensures that the final garment will have the exact color and feel that was approved in the sample stage.

  • Preparation: The yarn is then wound onto bobbins or cones, which are loaded onto the knitting machines. This step is crucial for ensuring a smooth and continuous knitting process.

2. The Knitting Floor: From Yarn to Fabric

This is where the transformation begins. Our knitting floor is a symphony of innovation and skill, powered by advanced machinery and expert technicians.

  • Computerized Knitting Machines: Our state-of-the-art flat-bed knitting machines are programmed with the specifications from a garment’s tech pack. They can create a wide variety of stitches and patterns, from classic jersey to intricate jacquards and complex cable knits.

  • Creating Panels: The machines knit each piece of the garment—the front panel, back, sleeves, and collar—to precise dimensions. This efficiency ensures minimal waste and high consistency across an entire production run.

This stage is a testament to the skill of our team and the precision of our machinery, which work together to produce perfect panels for the next step.

3. The Cut & Sew: Bringing the Garment to Life

Once the panels are knitted, they move to our assembly department, where they are transformed into a complete garment.

  • Linking and Stitching: The key to high-quality knitwear is the seams. We use specialized linking machines to meticulously join the knitted panels together, stitch by stitch. This creates a seamless, durable, and comfortable seam that is far superior to standard cut-and-sew techniques.

  • Sewing: After linking, the garment moves to our sewing specialists, who attach trims, collars, and cuffs, and add any final sewing details.

This stage of the knitwear production process requires immense skill and attention to detail. Our experienced team of artisans is responsible for ensuring every seam is perfect and every detail is in its place.

4. The Finishing Touches: Washing, Pressing, and Quality Control

The garment is almost ready, but a few critical steps are needed to give it a professional finish.

  • Washing and Steaming: Each garment is washed or steamed to set the fibers and give the fabric its final feel and drape. This is a crucial step that ensures the garment will maintain its shape and size after the first wash.

  • Pressing: Garments are carefully pressed to remove any wrinkles and give them a professional, clean look.

  • Quality Control: This is the most critical stage. Our dedicated Quality Control (QC) team meticulously inspects every single garment. They check for any defects, from loose threads and pulls in the knit to incorrect measurements or stitching errors. Any garment that does not meet our high standards is either sent for repair or rejected.

This final inspection guarantees that every piece that leaves our factory is a perfect representation of our craftsmanship and your brand’s quality.

5. Final Touches & Packaging

The final approved garments are carefully folded, and any final branding, such as hang tags and poly bags, are added. They are then boxed and prepared for shipment. The journey from from yarn to garment is complete.

We believe that a manufacturer should be a true partner, and that transparency is the foundation of a successful business. Our process is designed to give our brand partners complete confidence in the quality of their products.
